What's new in gPHPEdit 0.9.80

The last 'major' release was gPHPEdit 0.9.80 with a lot of new features and bug fixes. The editor has since moved on to 0.9.91-5 (current version). Here are the new features and fixes introduced in version 0.9.91. The features listed below should therefore apply to all later versions of gPHPEdit as well, which would mean, including the current version.

New Features in 0.9.80 and above

Only one copy of gPHPEdit?

64-Bit Safe
Now gPHPEdit is completely 64-bit safe, having been proven to work on 64-bit versions of Gentoo, Ubuntu and Fedora Core 4.

Remote GNOME-VFS
Although gPHPEdit was converted to use GNOME-VFS before (which it was believed would bring remote file capability) it never worked. Now it definitely works and has been tested against SSH, SFTP, SCP and FTP sources

Single Instance
A feature that is often requested is that gPHPEdit only open once and any further calls to open files with it open in the single copy. This has been done with many thanks to Yevgen Muntyan.
Bugfixes/Enhancements

Changing font-size across the editor

Calltip Functionality
The calltip functionality was case-sensitive, i.e. not popping down the function list or the hint for parameters on calls to SetCookie. This is now case-insensitive as PHP is for function calls.

Find/Replace Dialogs
After some testing work performed by Lance Ivy, some changes have been made to the Find/Replace dialogs such as the Enter and Escape keys working to perform dialog actions such as Find and Close.

Python Highlighting
We've added Python syntax highlighting as another unsupported language.

GNOME 2.10 and International Layout Bugs
Further to our re-integration with the latest version of Scintilla the rendering bugs experienced on later GNOME versions has been resolved.

...plus many more
We've resolved virtually every outstanding bug including spaces not auto-indenting correctly and the font/size confirmation popping below the drop down in Preferences.
