> Version 1.0 Beta 1 (internally known as version 0.9.91) has been released. This is known as "The Peer Pressure Release". I've had lots of people pestering me for a new release and to be honest, it's just that there's been no major new features to make it worthwhile. However, this release does have a lot more bugfixes in it. This release will become 1.0 unless there are reports of any showstopping bugs. Download away!

> Version 1.0 Alpha 1 (internally known as version 0.9.80) has been released. There are lots of new features in this one such as: Remote GNOME-VFS support, 64 bit support and the ability to only have one instance open, but the important thing is lots of bugs are fixed. For more information see the "What's new in 0.9.80" page.

> Development has restarted on gPHPEdit, over the past few days Andy's added AMD64 native support and working remote filesystem support. It's currently in beta, but as soon as any kinks are ironed out there'll be a release notice on this website (and on your favourite places such as freshmeat.net).

> Thanks to Lior Kaplan gPHPEdit is now in Debian Testing. Just apt-get and you're away!

With many thanks to Roman Bogorodskiy, there is now a port of gPHPEdit for FreeBSD. While it's not officially supported by gPHPEdit.org, we will happily make any changes suggested to us for future builds to be easily ported.

For more information see the FreshPorts web site.

As of November 2003 gPHPEdit is available from Gentoo stable. This is major news as Gentoo is the first distribution to include gPHPEdit.

Gentoo Linux is a "special flavor of Linux that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need"

After November 2003's favourable review in the leading UK Linux magazine Linux Format (issue 46), the HotPicks writers decided to do a "HotPicks Revisited" and write about gPHPEdit again.

Some of the comments made include "These new features transform gPHPEdit from a decent little PHP editor into a much more useful tool" and "newcomers and regular coders alike should fine it a useful tool".

With a great many thanks to Lior Kaplan, gPHPEdit 0.9.50 is now in Debian Testing.

It's been a long process and we are very grateful to Lior for his time and effort in getting an easy way for Debian users to install gPHPEdit.
